All she wants to do is dance, dance!

Whoa, it has been over a month since I last blogged! That's what happens when life happens, I guess.

Today Ainsley had her very first day of dance class. I signed her up because she absolutely loves dancing around the house, pretending to be a ballerina. However, this is Ainsley I'm talking about, so I knew that there was a very high probability that once in class she might not cooperate. I got her all dressed up in the standard dance attire, baby pink tights, leotard and ballet slippers, and off we went! Once we were there she seemed excited enough, especially when putting on her shiny new tap shoes. In the dance room, she cooperated for all of maybe 10 minutes, and it was whining and crying from there on out. She followed one of the teachers around the entire time, wailing and sucking her thumb. I kind of felt bad, like maybe she was a distraction to the other girls, but I was reassured by the teacher that she was fine and it will just take some time to get used to. We'll see...she definitely has a mind of her own!

Here are a few pictures of my little dancer...

Happy 3rd Birthday, Sweet Ainsley

Our baby girl turned 3 years old yesterday. My, my, my how the time has flown by. Ainsley is such a joy to us. She makes me smile and laugh every day with the cute little things she does and says. She's a girly-girl through and through. She loves lipstick, singing and dancing, SHOES, baby dolls, princesses, and dressing up. Happy birthday, sweet Ainsley. We love you more every day :)

A few months back I bought a subscription to Family Fun magazine for less than $5 for a whole year (thank you Elizabeth for your awesome bargain blog!!) and have enjoyed flipping through the pages over and over. This morning I decided to break up the monotony that is summer, and try out a little project from the newest issue. I have to admit, this is the first project/craft I've tried from the magazine because quite frankly, I'm a bit lazy when it comes to these types of things. :) And I'm glad that this one was quick and easy because it took all of 45 seconds for my kids to decide that it was too hot outside.

I was going to type out instructions here, but I figured I'd just link to them! Here are a few pictures of Collin and Ainsley making foam "snakes" with their "Foamerators"!!!!

Memories...

The kids and I went down for a visit with my family this past weekend, and while we were there, my mother, sister and I took a trip down memory lane by digging all sorts of old stuff out of the cedar chest. We came across a few of my dresses from when I was a child. I thought it would be fun to put Ainsley in them and take pictures to compare to old photos of me in them. The first dress was made by my mother. I am not sure how old I was when I wore it, but I'm guessing I was maybe 5 or 6. Ainsley is almost 3, so this is a little big on her!! I couldn't find a picture of me wearing it, although I do know one exists. She made matching dresses for my sister and I. Mine was purple and Susan's was pink.

This next dress was made by my grandmother (my mother's mother) and I distinctly remember adoring it to pieces. I'm pretty sure I was around 5 when I wore this dress, so once again, it's a little bigger on Ainsley at 3 than it would be in a couple of years!

Today Collin went on his first official field trip ever. While I knew he would have a great time, I was a little nervous about sending him off with people I don't know. If you're wondering, he went with First Baptist Church in College Station. I knew two of his buddies would be going, and thought it would be fun for him to go, too. They went to King's Orchard in Plantersville. They picked blueberries galore and then got to pet some miniature horses.

Before the big trip - very excited!
Collin filled this bucket up with blueberries!
Mmm, mmm, mmm!

More random Disney pictures

This post consists of pictures that were taken by the Disney PhotoPass photographers. You will once again notice that Ainsley was a toot for pretty much all pictures taken of her!

Our first day. This was taken at our hotel, Wilderness Lodge.

The setup at Hollywood Studios for Cars. Too bad it was basically like a cattle call, because Collin absolutely loved this!!
I know, this picture is super goofy!

Not at all sure what to think of Ariel...
I wish we could have spent more time at Animal Kingdom. It was very hot and we were all really crabby that day so we left shorty after lunch. Probably what really ruined our time there was the guy puking at the table across from us as soon as we sat down for lunch. Nice.

The Tree of Life (sans two screaming kids)
And of course, Belle :)
