Oh, the sweet things our kids say!

I was just in Collin's room getting him dressed for the day when my stomach started making funny growling noises. Then Collin and I had the following conversation:

Me: "My tummy's acting crazy this morning."

Collin: "Maybe it's because you're gonna have a baby."

Me: "What? What do you mean?"

Collin: "Well, look at your belly."

Me: "What about my belly?"

Collin: "Well, it's gettin' kinda' big."

Me: "Oh."

Wow. Guess it's time to get serious about those situps!

What a day - and it's not over yet!

How has my day gone? Well, I'm so glad you asked! It's actually not been that bad. The weather is absolutely gorgeous out and I can't wait for Ainsley to get up from her nap so we can go out and play! And today I can actually breathe normally, so that's a plus!

This morning, Ainsley got into a little bottle of Bath & Body Works antibacterial hand gel from my bathroom drawer and was rubbing it aaaaallllllll over her hands and arms, and then happened to get it into her eyes...ouch!

Earlier, I thought I had found a good opportunity to jump in the shower. I even thought about shaving my hideously hairy legs but I knew that was pushing the time limit. I was literally not in the shower for 5 seconds when Collin came in saying something about Ainsley being in the trash. Great. So I asked him if he could pleeeeease just keep an eye on her for a few minutes while I showered. Yeah right. Asking a 4 1/2 year old to watch his 2 1/2 year old sister for a few minutes?! Like that was gonna happen. When I got all dried off I discovered that Ainsley had unloaded all of the trash from the half bathroom onto the toilet lid. She was apparently rummaging for Collin's Transformers bandaid that I had given him the other day. Gross.

And then it was lunchtime. As I was mixing up Collin's usual PB&J, in walks Ainsley with the razor-less razor that we keep in the bathroom for Collin to pretend shave. Except along with the razor, she had tons of white goo on her face. She had gotten into the tube of Neutrogena Skin Aid from our bathroom drawer and was using it as shave cream. Oh, what fun! She was just having herself a good 'ol time.

So yeah, that's been our day so far! I just can't wait to see what the rest of the day has in store!

She is the Dancing Queen!

I have tried, tried, and tried to get these videos posted on here upright, but it's just not happening for some reason. They are both from the same day. The first one is in the morning. Ainsley was singing, "Shake your boooody, shake your boooody!" Then the second one is that same afternoon, this time singing, "Shake your boooootie, shake your boootie!" while also instructing daddy on what to do! She's such a little ham!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Dogs and Balloons

Last night I was blowing up a balloon that Collin got from his Valentine's party at MDO. As it was deflating I pinched the opening of the balloon so that it made a high-pitched squeal. Gracie just stared at the balloon for a long time, and eventually chimed in with howling. It was hilarious, at least to us! She has never howled at anything before.

On another note, check out what my wonderful husband sent me for an early Valentine's gift! It has SO MUCH fruit on it!! Too bad Ainsley and I are the only ones in the house who will eat any of it!

Princesses and Potties

Well, I "think" we're re-entering the potty training stage with Ainsley. A few months ago she started showing some interest, and then within a few days that interest was gone. Now I'm more or less trying to go with instinct. She's showing more signs of readiness: not wanting to be wet or dirty, tee-teeing on the potty before baths, etc. She'll be 3 in July, but I'm definitely not going to force the issue!

This morning I pulled out the Pull-Ups and asked her to tell me the names of the princesses on one of them. I also grabbed my camera to get a little video of it because I think it's so funny that she calls Sleeping Beauty something that sounds more like "shake your booty." And at the end she's saying that she wants "new lipstip" or lipstick. The girl is addicted to lip gloss!
